Stainless Steel 904L Pipes
Stainless Steel 904L is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel with a low carbon content that is not stabilized. Copper has been added to the alloy of 904L stainless steel pipes.
As a result, the resistance to powerful reducing acids like sulfuric acid is quite great. The decreased carbon content makes it easier to manufacture the AISI 904L Welded Pipe according to ASTM A312. Despite the decreased carbon content, these pipes are suitable for high-temperature applications.
Because of the high nickel content of the ASME SA 312 TP904L alloy, the tube performs very well in overground applications. In addition to being a non-magnetic alloy, Stainless Steel 904L Pipe has high resistance to stress-related corrosion cracking.
The inclusion of molybdenum in the alloy minimizes the risk of fracture corrosion. Aside from conditions and high temperatures, ASTM A312 TP904L is mostly effective for ordinary corrosive applications.
Mechanical testing includes shear and longitudinal stress tests, as well as flatness tests. Tests were conducted on a 904L seamless pipe to assess its tensile qualities.
According to ASTM A312, every 904L Pipe must be delivered in a heat-treated state, with the appropriate heat treatment temperature and reason for cooling or testing.
